Granny – March 2020

Hello Ryan and Samantha, here’s another message from your Granny.

I am writing this in Half Term week, and what a wash-out it has been. Everyone is water-logged, the fields are like lakes, the grass is squelchy, and the winds are blowing branches down all over the place.

I expect you are having to find things to do indoors most days because it’s just horrible out there.

I used to love half term weeks when Jas and Amy and you two came round to play. Goodness knows what we used to do? Build dens, make lego, of course, paint in the kitchen, loads of stories, always, when we got tired.

I remember one really funny thing, Ryan. You were stood on a chair up at the kitchen sink, blowing through a straw in a cup of fairy liquid bubbles.  You blew and blew, and the bubbles poured over the edge of the cup, then began to fill the sink, and still you blew, and the bubbles touched your nose and kept growing, and spilled out of the sink onto the draining board and turned into a mighty mountain! You were just laughing and laughing with bubbles tickling your cheeks, and a long bubble beard hanging off your chin. It was so funny!

I remember so many good funny times and miss seeing you these days.

Well now, both of you, I hope you are enjoying your school work, and I wish you all the best in what you are doing. Of course, I will always love to hear from you about all your work, the things you like and how you are both getting on. Samantha, I am just remembering that you were the expert on bubbles when you were a little one. You would spend ages spraying and cleaning any windows, mirrors and doors you could find. Especially you loved the spraying bit! And trying to get it really sparkly.

However, Samantha, with your 11th Birthday here, I’m sure you’ve left all that behind. I wish you a very Happy Birthday, and will be thinking of you on the 7th. xxxx Have a lovely day!

I am posting photos this time of days when it wasn’t raining!

Here is Samantha and Jasmine with your Aunty Ali on the bouncy castle in their garden.

Then you two with your cousins at Amy’s Birthday party.
