Granny – May 2020

Hello Ryan and Samantha.

It’s May 28th, 2020 and here we all are still stuck in the middle of Covid lockdown.  Although we keep busy, mainly it can be a bit boring and frustrating.

What has been quite funny over Covid-time is watching everybody’s hair getting longer and longer, until people don’t look like themselves.  Because I am 76 now, I have grey hair and look like a proper old Granny, so if you saw me now, you might not recognise me.  Of course, I would know you because I could never forget my own grandchildren. and just don’t know why I can’t see you sometimes.  But I remember always what good friends we were.  Of course, Ryan, you always had longish hair when you were little, so it might not be too different for you!

How are you two finding the long days indoors?  Well, there is stuff to do indoors, in our homes and gardens, but I expect you’d much rather be doing it with your friends.  Everyone is finding it difficult, and can’t wait for things to improve, so we can all get off this “CoronaCoaster.”

Now that we are allowed to go out a bit further, Grandad and I cycled up to Broadstone this week to have a change of scenery and get some exercise.  We cycled up the Broadstone Way and along the cycle track.  It was a good ride.

Well, I wish you both good luck as, hopefully, you soon get around a bit more, and maybe see your friends, and, even, one day get back to school!

Much love from Granny Ruth
